Upheval, that is “Renaissance”, comes to light thanks to a composers competition in the Academy of music A.Scarlatti of Palermo once V. Bellini, announced for students of composition.

The structure shows a Suite splitted up in two pictures, “1st moderato sarcastic” – “2nd allegro sharp”; the second picture is joined to first by the prelude, that divides “symmetrically” the two movements. In various sections, the contrapuntist development follows small clarinet’s harmony with a modal system. My purpose is put in more energy as to traditional harmony, to produce various sonorities, as my first symphonic writing experiences. (Giovanni Pizzitola)
